Hennessy to Celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary with Rapper Nas Featuring a Special Edition HenNASsy Bottle

Next month, Hennessy, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, will do something it has never done in the existence of the brand. A limited edition of the VS version of the brand will be released on July 20 and not only will it feature Queensbridge’s legendary recording artist, Nas, this edition will be rebranded with a HenNASsy logo.

Hennessy, the world’s best-selling Cognac is releasing a Limited-Edition Hennessy V.S bottle, which was designed in partnership with the Grammy-Award-winning rapper Nas, nee Nasir Jones.

“It means a lot to me to celebrate this legendary moment in Hip Hop history with Hennessy, a brand that has supported me for over 10 years,” said Nas in a written statement. “Hennessy is part of our culture and continues to inspire generations of Hip Hop fans, so I’m really proud to share our new Limited-Edition bottle with the world.”

Hennessy has also collaborated with Bronx-bred photographer, Renell Medrano, to present a film that Nas narrated that is being billed as Nas’ love letter to Hip Hop and will feature imagery of the new Limited-Edition Hennessy V.S Bottle.

To celebrate the culture of hip-hop the mixologists employed by the Cognac brand have created three unique cocktails:

• The Big Apple: Hennessy’s homage to the birthplace of Hip Hop and inspired by Nas. The fruity notes of Hennessy V.S compliment the cinnamon apple flavors prominent in the Big Apple cocktail.
• HenNASsy Honey: A tribute to Hennessy’s partnership with Nas. Hennessy V.S’ complexity reacts well with this cocktail, complimenting the sweetness of the honey while balancing the tartness of the lemon juice.
• Incredible Hennessy: A new twist on a classic hip hop cocktail. This well-balanced and refreshing cocktail taps into Hennessy’s legacy within Hip Hop and will be immediately recognizable to fans of the brand and the genre.

Later this summer, on the actual birthday of the seminal culture that was started in the Bronx, August 11, Hennessy will have its Team Hennessy ambassadors spread out across 14 U.S. markets to host celebrations in honor of Hip Hop’s birthday.
